As team manager and president, I'd like to welcome our newest sponsor Rowlette's Bikes. Rowlette's has been in business for over 90 years and they know their bikes. Not only that, but they know their customers...otherwise, they would have gone out of business 85 years ago. Rowlette's has a great variety of riding apparel and equipment as well as some of the best bike mechanics around.

On top of all that - they are very conveniently located at broad & staples mill. Team members should visit them and introduce yourselves as an ASR member. We will be organizing a team meet & greet with Rowlette's very soon. I'd like to give a big thank you to team member Billy Moffett who has been on the hunt for a bike sponsor and developed a great relationship with fred and moved us forward to bringing together two great organizations so as to promote each other, the sport and the community at large!

Why recreational tree climbing? Because it involves ropes, climbing gear and up to (but not limited to) 120 feet of technical climbing that can be accomplished ANYWHERE…as well as strength, endurance AND skill!

RIVERSIDE OUTFITTERS RUNS RAFTING TRIPS AND BOAT RENTALS ON THE JAMES RIVER BUT ALSO OFFERS RECREATIONAL TREE CLIMBING WITH THE HELP OF ITS SISTER COMPANY “TRUE TIMBER” AN ARBORIST COMPANY WHO EMPLOYS A NUMBER OF COMPETITIVE TREE CLIMBERS.

Along the river bank in the award-winning James River Park System, you will be instructed in standard tree climbing techniques which are somewhat different than typical rock climbing but just as challenging…
